20171215_162319730_iOSI’ve grown up with Star Wars, its been part of my life since my parents bought their first VCR in the early 80s and it came with a copy of Star Wars IV : A New Hope, I’ve seen all the films many times over and I’ve just seen The Last Jedi in iMax 3D goodness at The Odeon in The Red Dragon Centre in Cardiff – Even Dave The Elf snuck in to watch it too!

There was only one thing I could say at the end of the film and that was simply Wow!

Dave The Elf was ready to watch!

As the film has just come out I will not post any spoilers, but if you are a Star Wars fan then you need to see this film.  For me this is the best film of all 8 of the series so far, the final in 2 years time is going to have to really pull something out of the bag to beat this one.

The Last Jedi contains emotion, you realise it’s the last time that the late Carrie Fisher is in a film, a role which she played so well, combine that with the emotion that other actors clearly portray and you start to see why this film outshines all the other Star Wars films before it.

As promised no spoilers, but this fan is very impressed by the film – And seeing it in 3D on the iMax screen just showed how far special effects have come since the release of Episode IV but also how those special effects can shape and make a movie.

Of course this will now lead to a huge debate into the order of the Star Wars films in terms of greatness, but for me they are in the following order –

  1. Episode VIII: The Last Jedi
  2. Episode VII: The Force Awakens
  3. Rogue One
  4. Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
  5. Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
  6. Episode IV: A New Hope
  7. Episode I: The Phantom Menace
  8. Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
  9. Episode II: Attack of the Clones

20171215_130606609_iOSBut please don’t take my word for it, go and see it, go judge for yourself and if you can, try to see it in Odeon iMax 3D goodness, you won’t be disappointed!

And yes, the Red Dragon Centre does have a Santa with a light sabre!
